St John’s Mission Statement
Our school community is committed to providing quality education, which endeavors
to prepare children for the future, in a caring Christian environment.
From Small Beginnings
St John's Lutheran Primary School opens on the 23rd of January, 1989, with 26 students in Years 1 - 6, and 2 teachers. By the start of the 1990 school year, the enrolment has increased to 69, and another teacher is employed.
By 1993, the school community has grown to 153 students, and 11 staff, including 7 teachers. A preschool is constructed in the space under the original classroom block, with an initial class of 25 students.
In the 10th anniversarv year, the school has an enrolment of 185, and the original two buildings has grown to seven. Celebrations include a Herbstfest organised by the school P&F and an anniversary dinner.
With enough enrolments for two preschool classes and looking towards the change to Prep in 2007, the school moves the classes to a new two-classroom block. This allows for a separatelv-run kindergarten, coexisting with the school, in the old preschool area.
In 2009-10, Federal Government funding allows the school to construct a multipurpose hall, which serves as an assembly hall, a worship area, and a display space, and an all-weather outdoor area for PE lessons, etc.
In 2014, the school celebrates its 25th anniversary, and also expands its facilities into Junior Secondary School, Years 7, 8 and9. The initial secondary enrolment is 44 and the total school enrolment has reached 377.
2017 sees the opening of a new expanded Administration building, incorporating administrative staff offices, school reception area, conference room, and staff room.
With the growth in student numbers, the school sees the need for an expanded library and resource centre, and this opens in 2018.
The school celebrates 30 years of providing quality Christian education in the South Burnett.
In 2022, responding to vears of enquiries from the school community, St John's begins its expansion into senior schooling.
Expansion of the Senior Precinct is completed, with the new building incorporating science labs, classrooms, and staff rooms. St John's is now a Prep to Year 12 School.
